What is RSVP?

Rapid Serial Visual Presentation flashes one word at a time in a fixed location. Your eyes don't have to scan or jump (saccade), so reading becomes pure recognition. With practice most people can read 400–700 words per minute comfortably.

The pivot letter

Every word has an Optimal Recognition Point (ORP) — the spot where your gaze naturally lands. We highlight that letter so all words align on the same column. If you're colorblind or prefer a non-color cue, switch the pivot to bold + underline in Settings.

Smart pacing

Long words, sentence-ending punctuation, commas and paragraph breaks all get a slightly longer pause so your brain has time to catch up. Disable it in Settings if you want a metronome-steady tempo.

Privacy

Books never leave your device. Parsing happens in your browser; everything is stored in IndexedDB. There is no account, no server, and no tracking.
